Sponge (gateaux) cake (basic gateaux recipe 2)


Ingredients:

4 eggs

150 gr convert conversionsugar

2 tablespoons vanilla sugar

6 tablespoons hot water

100 gr flour convert conversion

80 gr convert conversioncornstarch

2 teaspoons baking powder

springform pan Ø 22 cm

How to prepare:

Line the bottom of a cake pan of Ø 22 cm with baking paper.

Preheat the oven to 200°C/395°F (fan oven 180°C/360°F).

Separate egg white and yolks. Beat with a mixer the egg whites with the sugar to peaks.

Add, while mixing at the lowest speed, egg yolks and water.

Sift flour, cornstarch and baking powder over the egg-mixture and fold carefully into the mixture. Pour or spoon the batter in the springform pan.

Bake the sponge dough according the recipes.

Let cool and optional half and add stuffing and topping.
