Sweet-sour chili sauce

Ingredients:

8-10 ripe (beef) tomatoes

2 large green apples

15 dates

100 gr hover for conversion raisins

100 gr hover for conversion sultana raisins

1 dl hover for conversion natural vinegar

1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

1 teaspoon paprika powder

4-5 Spanish peppers

50 gr hover for conversion dark brown sugar

 

Preparation:

Chop and mix all ingredients, except the sugar, and bring while stirring to a boil.
Lower the heat and simmer in 20 minutes to a mush.
Remove the pan from the heat and rub the mixture through a strainer.
Put it back in the pan, add the sugar and dissolve it over medium heat while stirring. Bring the mixture to a boil again and reduce in 10-15 minutes to a thick sauce.
Pour the sauce while still hot in sterilised jars or bottles and close immediately.
 
If you want a thicker sauce with pieces fruit, you can skip the sifting.
