Spices cake (Dutch kruidkoek)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ginger powder
1 teaspoon cookie spices
oven, cake pan 1-1.5 liter

How to prepare:
Preheat the oven to 180°C/360°F (fan oven 160°C/310°F).
Beat the butter with sugar and eggs creamy.
Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt and spices well and add the mixture spoon by spoon at the butter, while whipping well.
Add the chocolate, hazelnuts, candied citron and candied orange peel.
Grease a cake pan, sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Fill with the batter and bake the spicecake 45-60 minutes.
When the cake is ready: wrap, while still hot, in aluminium foil and let rest for 24 hours (the taste will only get better).
