make a sugared edge:

For a festive sugar edge on a glass: depending on the recipe pour the juice of a lemon or an orange on a saucer and on a 2nd saucers several tablespoons sugar. Dip the edge of the glass in the juice, drain a little and place it in the sugar. Let dry for an hour.
For tequila: dip the rim of the glass in salt!
