Greek meat

Ingredients:

750 gr hover for conversion lean beef loin

3 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1 large can tomato paste (140 gr)

3 tablespoons (apple) vinegar

1-2 teaspoons salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

8 cloves

750 gr hover for conversion small onions (or shallots)

2 cinnamon sticks of 5 cm

 

Preparation:

Cut the meat in not too small cubes.
Fry the cubes in hot olive oil in a frying pan brown.
Mix basil, tomato paste, vinegar, salt and black pepper with 6 dl hover for conversion hot water and add bit by bit stirring to the meat (it must keep boiling).
Prick all the cloves in 1 onion and add the onion with the cinnamon to the meat.
Simmer for at least 1 hour, better 2.
Add the rest of the peeled onions and simmer another hour over low heat.
Remove cinnamon (if still there) and cloves before serving.
