Frisian brandied apricots

(Fryske boerenmeisjes)

Ingredients:

300 gr hover for conversion dried apricots

4 dl hover for conversion water 

300 gr hover for conversion white candy sugar

1 cinnamon stick

4 cloves

1 liter hover for conversion brandy

 

extra:

2 liter hover for conversion canning jar

Wash the apricots and soak for 24 hours in the water.
Bring the (optional sliced) apricots with the soaking water and candy sugar to a boil and simmer 10 minutes.
Spoon the apricots in a 2 liter hover for conversion jar, add the fluid and let cool in the open jar.
Add cinnamon stick, cloves and brandy.
 
Close the jar, shake well and let rest at least 6 weeks.
