Krintsjesbrij (watergruel)
100 gr
pearled barley
1.5 liter water

peel of 1 lemon
cinnamon stick
1/2 liter
red berries juice
juice of 1 lemon
100 gr
sugar
100 gr
raisins
100 gr
currants

Preparation in advance:
Soak the pearl barley overnight in 1.5 liter water.
How to prepare:
Boil the pearl barley 1 hour in soak water with cinnamon and the lemon peel.
Add the berry juice, lemon juice, sugar, vanilla sugar, raisins and currants and cook another 30 minutes.
Remove the lemon peel and the cinnamon stick from the pan.
Can be eaten warm or cold.
