Krintsjesbrij (watergruel)Ingredients:100 gr pearled barley1.5 liter waterpeel of 1 lemoncinnamon stick1/2 liter red berries juicejuice of 1 lemon100 gr sugar3 tablespoons vanilla sugar100 gr raisins100 gr currants

Preparation in advance:Soak the pearl barley overnight in 1.5 liter water.How to prepare:Boil the pearl barley 1 hour in soak water with cinnamon and the lemon peel.Add the berry juice, lemon juice, sugar, vanilla sugar, raisins and currants and cook another 30 minutes.Remove the lemon peel and the cinnamon stick from the pan.
Can be eaten warm or cold.
