Krintsjesbrij (watergruel)


Ingredients:

100 gr convert conversionpearled barley

1.5 liter water convert conversion

peel of 1 lemon

cinnamon stick

1/2 liter convert conversionred berries juice

juice of 1 lemon

100 gr convert conversionsugar

3 tablespoons vanilla sugar

100 gr convert conversionraisins

100 gr convert conversioncurrants

Preparation in advance:

Soak the pearl barley overnight in 1.5 liter water.

How to prepare:

Boil the pearl barley 1 hour in soak water with cinnamon and the lemon peel.

Add the berry juice, lemon juice, sugar, vanilla sugar, raisins and currants and cook another 30 minutes.

Remove the lemon peel and the cinnamon stick from the pan.

 

Can be eaten warm or cold.
