Frisian Grauwe earten mei spek

en sjerp (Marrowfats with bacon and syrup)


Ingredients:

2 cans marrowfats

salt

300 gr convert conversionunsmoked streaky bacon

5 onions

mustard

chopped gherkins

halved cocktail onions

Pancake syrup

How to prepare:

Dice the bacon and fry, with little salt, over low heat.

Peel and chop the onions. Add about 3 chopped onions to the bacon. Fry about 15 minutes. Put the rest of the chopped onions (raw) in a bowl.

Take 3 small bowls. Fill with mustard, gherkins and cocktail onions.

Warm the marrowfats, drain and mix in a bowl with the unsmoked streaky bacon/onion mixture.

Serve with the chopped onion, mustard, gherkins and cocktail onions and please: don't forget the pancake syrup !
