use for an apple pie:

Soak the raisins about 2 hours in some rum or calvados for a delicious taste (the alcohol will disappear while baking).
 

use for a pie: 

Also soaking in rum or calvados is delicious. Soak in warm water or some lemon juice the night over. To prevent the raisins to sink to the bottom of the pie: dry after soaking and flour with little flour. Fold into the dough carefully.
 

to keep:

Keep raisins chilly, airtight and dark to prevent drying.
